I tutor math. Through 8th grade, I tutor everything else too.
In person, at your house or somewhere nearby. I'm a junior at Lambert High School.
What I teach
What I can help with
Most of my students come to me for math. Through 8th grade I can help with the other core subjects too, so you don't have to find a second tutor if reading or science is the problem that week.
Elementary
Counting, addition and subtraction, times tables, fractions, decimals and word problems. Learning to read, reading comprehension and writing. Science and social studies.
Middle school
Ratios, percents, negative numbers, expressions, pre-algebra and Algebra 1. Life, earth and physical science. ELA and social studies.
High school, math only
Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2. Solving and graphing equations, slope, systems, inequalities, and geometric reasoning.

Email me
Tell me what grade your kid is in and what they're stuck on. I usually reply the same day.
First session
I spend the first session working out what they're already good at and where the gaps are. By the end I know what we need to work on.
Keep going
Most families do two sessions a week. I'll send you a short note after each one saying what we worked on.
About
About me
I'm a junior at Lambert High School. I've tutored about 100 hours so far, mostly elementary and middle school kids around here.
Some of my students have special needs and need things explained a few different ways. Others are gifted and bored because their class moves too slowly. I've gotten pretty good at working out which one I'm dealing with in the first session.
I took these classes recently enough that I still remember which parts were confusing. Kids also tend to loosen up faster with me than with an adult tutor. If your kid needs something I don't teach, I'll say so.

Questions
Questions I get
How long is a session?
Usually two hours. That's enough time to go over what they did in class, do practice problems, and finish homework. Younger kids sometimes lose focus before that, so I'll do shorter sessions if you'd rather.
How often should we meet?
Twice a week for most kids. Once a week is fine if things are mostly okay and you just want someone checking in. If they're actually behind, twice a week works a lot faster.
Do you really teach every subject?
Through 8th grade, yes. Math, science, reading, writing and social studies. For high school I only do math.
Where do sessions happen?
A library or a coffee shop, or your house if a parent is home. Whatever's easiest for you.
What areas do you cover?
I live near Lambert High School and I serve Forsyth, Fulton and Gwinnett. If you're a bit outside that, just ask.
Do you tutor online?
No. It's a lot easier when I can watch them work the problem on paper.
What if we need to cancel?
Tell me the day before and I won't charge you.
How do we pay?
At the end of each session. We can sort out how when we set up the first one.
